Pope Francis invited people of good will in Rome (14.5.20) to formulate a global educational agreement.
The ecological care for our common home, nature, and the care for the often wounded brotherhood of all people presuppose a common educational work. This work has led, for example, to the agreement with the Great Imam Al Tayyeb, especially on the theme of the fraternity of all people.
It is burning all over the world (the fires in Amazonia are a very strong symbol of this global fire (wars, forced migrations...) and we need a common educational work to know what is really important to us.
The German press (SZ, FAZ) stressed yesterday that the German bishops or the German Catholics are even on confrontation course with the Pope (while it is likely that old influential intellectuals in the media will present an image that even does not correspond to what the people of God think in Germany).
Next year I will have spent 30 years in Germany (just as I had spent 30 years in Italy before) and integrated myself into German culture: read a lot of Goethe (just as an example), worked a lot. I got to know a few German Catholics, whom I really appreciate, above all my wife, Konstanze Graziotto, then Ferdinand Ulrich and lately my pastor Andreas Tober, people who have a "sentire cum ecclesia". But I also got to know a church that is very provincial and de fixated on topics that are totally lacking from a "sentire cum ecclesia". The clerical themes such as women's priesthood, etc. already have a place in the church, such as the Lutheran Church, and do not need to be imitated by the Catholic Church. This decision would only lead to a renewed schism at the world level, as Cardinal Marc Ouellet rightly emphasized.
Who follows my blog knows exactly that I don't hide the whole scandals of the KK at all, but the "dogmatic" reference to self-proclaimed experts who know how to draw the right conclusions from these scandals is for me only another form of "clericalism" (as Charles Peguy would rightly say).
The "sentire cum ecclesia" presupposes a Catholic and universal attitude and a deepening in the universal and concrete Logos of God, which I have only rarely encountered in German. If so, then already very deeply: the rest are often Christians who only follow their belly and do not see that Pope Francis does not stand for personality cult, but for reason.
A reason that is fought against (by rich Catholics from the USA, for example), but that is also recognized, up to the sentence of my agnostic friend Riccardo Cristiano: either Bergoglio or barbarism.
